The town of Murphy, North Carolina, can be found in the heart of Cherokee County and is actually the county seat of the area, located in the southern Appalachian Mountains. The beautiful historic district of Murphy has restored buildings dating back from 1839. This quaint rural town is home to approximately 1,625 people. The downtown section of town is beautifully decorated with a landscape of various flowers and trees line the streets. Due to this incredible display of botany, Murphy has been dubbed the City of Flowers.
Approximately halfway between Atlanta, Georgia, and Knoxville, Tennessee, Murphy is an extremely convenient location near major roads and highways that allow for exploration of the incredible and diverse neighboring cities and towns. The town of Murphy has a vibrant art scene. The first Friday of every month from May through December is dedicated to Murphy’s Art Walk.
