Elevated Dining At Your Local Brewery

Throughout the years, dining with others has been something that draws people close and helps build relationships. We have all seen movies, watched TV shows, and listened to songs that remind us of how important this is. Everyone now sing with me, “Sometimes you wanna go, where everybody knows your name, and they’re always glad you came. You wanna be where you can see, our troubles are all the same. You wanna be where everybody knows your name.” You can’t just read that, you must sing that! The beloved Cheers TV show theme song rings true and we have our own version of that in Hiawassee at the Hiawassee Brew. They not only brew their own fabulous beer but their mission is to have such elevated cuisine that they hope to raise the standard of every other NE Georgia restaurant. What a wonderful goal that we will all benefit from!

Chef John Woodrun, a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School, along with owners Jacob & Krista Hill are committed to culinary excellence. All of their dishes are made in-house, and no frozen products are used. Some of their most popular starters are the Mexican Pizza and Crispy Chicken Wings. These wings are unreal! They are crispy, juicy, and wet, exactly what you want in a wing. The Tacos are very popular as well. The tacos have many protein options like shrimp, fish, steak, al pastor, or a veggie taco. For the main course, the burger is one of the best I have ever had. It is juicy and perfectly cooked and the overall flavor is what every burger should be!  The fish and chips served with beer-battered haddock is a show stopper. Dipping that fish into the jalapeno tartar sauce can only be described with one word, wow! Don’t forget to wash it all down with a brewsky or cider. The pumpkin cider was out of this world!

Don’t be fooled, Hiawassee Brew is not just a food truck, they have a full menu, brewer, and chef! Their food is not the only amazing aspect of dining here. They have many fun events every week that bring our town together. Wednesday night is music bingo and Friday and Saturday nights offer live music. They also plan to have an exclusive RSVP event called “Beer Dinners”. The dinners would be five-course dinners that pair with five different beers. In the future, they will have Tamale Tuesdays using red pork and green chicken. According to the chef, these tamales will be authentic and full of flavor! The whole vibe at Hiawassee Brew is so welcoming and the view from the top deck is stellar with the mountains in full sight! You MUST try Hiawassee Brew!
